Chimney Inspections & Repairs
Sweeping, inspections, post-earthquake assessments, and repairs. Your chimney should be safe before you light your next fire.
Your Chimney Is the Most Overlooked Part of Your Home
Most homeowners think about their fireplace or stove but forget about the chimney that vents it. In Alaska, that’s a problem. Earthquakes crack flue liners. Creosote builds up faster in cold climates. And a damaged chimney you can’t see from the outside can put your family at risk.
North Country Stoves is one of the few hearth shops in the Anchorage area that inspects and repairs chimneys in-house. Most shops just sell fireplaces. We also take care of the chimney they connect to—it’s part of being a true one-stop shop. Our team serves Anchorage, Eagle River, and the entire Mat-Su Valley.
What We Offer
Level 2 Chimney Inspections
Our technicians perform comprehensive Level 2 inspections with a video scan of the interior flue. We check for cracks, separations, creosote buildup, and structural damage—the things you can’t see from the outside.
Post-Earthquake Assessments
After any significant seismic event, your chimney should be inspected before you use it again. Earthquakes shift chimney sections, crack liners, and create hidden damage. We’ll assess the damage and tell you exactly what needs to be done.
Chimney Repairs
If we find damage, we fix it—in-house. No need to call a second company. We handle flue liner replacement, crown repair, cap installation, and structural repairs. One team from inspection to completion.
Chimney Sweeping
Regular sweeping removes creosote, soot, and debris that build up in your flue. This is especially important if you burn wood—creosote is the leading cause of chimney fires. We recommend annual sweeping at minimum.
Safety Certifications
Need a chimney inspection for a home sale, insurance claim, or code compliance? We provide documented inspections with detailed reports you can share with your agent, adjuster, or inspector.
Service & Maintenance
Beyond chimneys, we service and repair fireplaces, stoves, and inserts. If your unit needs a tune-up, parts replacement, or troubleshooting, our technicians can handle it.
